The Property
Roughly 374 acres of forested, gentle-sloping mountains and high-plains meadows; live running streams and both stream- and spring-feed ponds, at the southeast end of Elevenmile Reservoir located in South Park Colorado. The southwest corner borders Pike National Forest (over a million acres); the other boundaries are adjacent to Elevenmile Reservoir State Park, BLM land, and County Road 59. Elk, deer and antelope graze the property, while a half-dozen different species of hawks as well as both Bald and Golden Eagles soar across this expansive ranch land. The elusive black bear and puma can be seen from time-to-time as well as coyotes, badgers and, of course, prairie dogs.
The Ranch House
The centerpiece of this beautiful Colorado ranch is a 7,500+ square foot home
with breath-taking panoramic views of Elevenmile Reservoir, several mountain
ranges, the Continental Divide and Pike’s Peak. There are four spacious
bedrooms each with a private bathroom; two additional bathrooms in the Powder
Room and Mud Room. The Master Suite has an expansive bedroom with skylight and
gas fireplace; the huge Master Bathroom has his/her sinks nestled in stunning
limestone with marble-accents, that sweeps up around a two-person whirlpool tub
and glassed steam shower! Entry to the large walk-in closet sets off the bathroom;
the limestone tiles and skylight brighten the room inviting one into the Master
Bedroom Closet.
The Kitchen with its commercial-grade Viking cooking range (with grill & griddle, dual convection ovens), dual SubZero refrigerator/freezers, and Butler’s Pantry that encompasses a Thermador dual convection oven/microwave and a second sink and dishwasher – is the natural gathering place for your family and friends. The Great Room, with ceilings that ascend more than twenty feet overhead, is separated from the Kitchen by a large see-thru gas fireplace surrounded by rock, and a rock-faced bar with granite counter top.To keep your family and friends entertained, the lower level recreation area includes a room for billiards separated by a third gas fireplace (also see-thru and surrounded by rock), a home theatre, a second rock-faced bar with granite counters – and a lap-pool with swim-jet, hot tub and moss-rocked waterfall! In addition, an exercise room is located on the main level central to the two study/offices.
Of course, when you aren’t enjoying all the amenities of this very exceptional home, there are two study/offices in which one can pursue the administrative demands of both personal and ranch business. To aid you in keeping in contact with family, friends, and business associates – the house is fully wired for Ethernet (also with wireless access points) that connects you via satellite to the Internet. The breath-taking views, however, of Elevenmile Reservoir, the Puma Hills, the Terryall and Platte River Mountain Ranges, Thirtynine Mile Mountain, Pike’s Peak, and the Continental Divide are likely to be a distraction.
The Mud Room is your entry into the Kitchen & Butler’s Pantry when coming in either from outside or the large two-bay garage (that also provides ample storage area). From the Mud Room you can also exit to the nearby Shop – nearly 1,000 square feet – having its own bathroom and a large bay with a 10-foot high roll-up door; a place you can pursue all your hobbies.
The distinctive appeal of the Ranch House is accentuated by the moss-rocked (collected off the ranch) & cedar-sided walls, and towering Douglas-Fir logs that meld the tiered slate-styled roofs to the rock bed foundation. All these features lend to the Ranch House blending harmoniously into the mountainside and trees, thus creating a very appealing and natural appearance.
